Prolympia Östersund is an independent primary school with a focus on sports and health, located in the Norr district of central Östersund. The school started its operations in 2004 and currently has 466 students and 55 employees. At our school, students receive a secure educational experience with a focus on sports, health, and outdoor life. This means more physical education on the schedule and more outdoor days with overnight stays compared to a traditional school.

About You

Prolympia in Östersund is seeking a German teacher. You will teach modern languages (German) and play a central role in the children's learning and development. Being a teacher is an important mission, and to give our students the best possible conditions to develop, we are looking for the right people for our school!

We are looking for someone who has high expectations regarding students' knowledge and values. You are a driven person with a positive attitude and share our values regarding sports as a tool for good health and good academic results. You have good communication skills, are clear in your leadership, and find collaboration easy. In your daily work, you create trusting relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. You work with an inclusive approach, actively working with student influence, pedagogical planning, and formative assessment.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities consist of teaching current subjects with associated planning and assessment. The teaching assignment is 50%. If you have additional subjects within your qualification, it may be relevant to fill the position up to full-time.

As a teacher at Prolympia, you plan your teaching independently, but also cross-subject together with colleagues. In your assessment, you document students' progress and work with formative assessment. As a teacher, you also contribute to making the daily routine work for the students; pedagogical lunch, recess supervision, and homework help may be included. The expectations of the assignment follow the Swedish National Agency for Education's regulations and general advice. Mentoring a class may be part of the position. You will be part of a work team together with experienced and driven colleagues.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a teacher education with a license and qualification to teach students in current subjects up to grade 9. However, you with other suitable competence and experience for the assignment are also welcome to apply. Furthermore, you must have good IT skills and be accustomed to using digital tools in your daily work.

The position is part-time with a 6-month probationary period. For employment, an extract from the criminal record register concerning work in schools and preschools, less than one year old, is required.
